Duality” – The Story Behind the Art
I wanted to explore how love and loss live side by side, how something beautiful can also carry an edge of fragility. The idea hit me one late night while sketching—what if a heart could hold more than sweetness? What if it told the truth, that love can break and mend at the same time?
I started with a heart-shaped canvas because I wanted the piece itself to embody that symbol. The two skulls came next—icy blue against a blazing red—mirroring each other, divided by a crack but still connected, like two souls forever facing one another. Every brushstroke was intentional, layering texture to make the cracks feel alive, almost like veins of emotion running through.
“Duality” is about that tension we all know: passion and pain, life and death, together in one place. It’s raw, it’s bold, and it came from my own late-night reflections on how love shapes us.
